A little while back, I was looking to buy a small, cheap, film camera. I really wasn’t trying to find anything special, just something I could take with me around the city to shoot shady looking characters. I ended up checking out some cameras online and buying the Lomography Mini Diana…It seemed perfect. It was definitely compact in size, but this made loading/advancing the film a nightmare for anyone who doesn’t have the hands of an 8 year old girl. This also made it painfully annoying to set the focus. Thats right, you have to blindly try to focus with 4 settings on this piece of shit (0.6 Meters, 1-2M, 2-4M, 4 – infinity M). First of all, WTF is a meter!? Like 3 feet or something? I don’t know, but even if you master the focus and have small girly hands your photos will still come out blurry 90% of the time because the shutter release button is on the side of the lens and jerks the camera every time you take a photo. I’m not saying you can’t get good pictures from this camera, I’m saying its not fun or easy to do so. On the upside, if you want to get rid of the Mini Diana they tend to break if you throw them against a wall.
Here are some critters for your enjoyment…
